  • The BEST BET of the Day (22: 4-8-1) Gin Fuzz (4th race: 7-2 M/L; 2-1 PT) settled well off the inside but within range of a slow contested pace past the five eighths marker, moved up five wide into the far turn, was under a hustling ride pursuing the pace past the five sixteenths, entered the lane in about the six path, came out a bit and bumped with MACK THE KNIFE nearing the furlong grounds, bid to challenge soon after, was floated out by the winner near the sixteenth marker and gave way grudgingly to be second best returning $3.40 to PLACE and $2.60 to SHOW.
  • The LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY (19: 3-0-6) Vinari (1st race: 8-1 M/L; 7-2 PT) was wide, briefly chased the pace and steadily retreated to finish 4th.
