YESTERDAY’S NEWS

  • On Thursday, Jan. 8th at Laurel had 5 winners from 9 races (1 Top Selection; payoff in BOLD) having $2 WIN pay-offs of $3.00 (3rd race), $10.20 (6th), $6.20 (7th), $4.60 (8th) and $4.20 (9th). Of the suggested Multi-Race Wagers cashed the late P3 (R7-R9) for a mere $14.65.
  • The BEST BET of the Day (4: 0-2-0) Golden Glint (8th race: 9-5 M/L; 1-1 PT) under a snug hold four wide past the three quarter pole, took closer order after a half mile, came under pressure mid turn, shifted out a bit wider for the drive and gave willing pursuit to the wire, coming up short of the winner to return $2.80 to PLACE and $2.10 to SHOW.
  • The LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY (3: 0-0-2) Conte (4th race: 8-1 M/L; 2-1 PT) took tons of action and went off the second betting choice, was 4 wide most of the trip, vied for the lead entering the stretch but weakened in the final furlong to only be good enough for the SHOW purse returning $2.40 to SHOW.
