YESTERDAY’S NEWS
- had just 5 winners from 9 races, though none were Top Selections, the $2 WIN pay-offs were $7.00 (2nd race), $5.20 (6th), $5.20 (7th), $8.20 (8th) and $2.80 (9th).
- The BEST BET of the Day (1: 0-1-0) Fifty Shades (4th race: 4-1 M/L; 5-2 PT) bobbled at the break, recovered and settled off the pace, began a four wide progression leaving the far turn, forged to command straightening for the wire, dueled outside rivals holding a slim lead past the eighth pole, was overtaken from his inside with about a sixteenth remaining and kept on gamely to be runner-up returning $4.80 to PLACE and $3.20 to SHOW.
- The LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY (1: 0-0-1) Scienziato (9th race: 8-1 M/L; 10-1 PT) well back early, drifted to the six path in upper stretch and passed tired rivals to get up for 3rd returning $3.60 to SHOW.
