In Spa Selections, Saratoga on-site correspondent Joseph Aiello provides picks for a handful of key races at Saratoga, including all of the exciting stakes action!

Race 8 – Alw 77000n1x

1. #12 Stonefactor (7-2) – Just a bit more speed than the others, and despite the tough post should still be up front with Lulu’s Pom Pom early

2. #1 Lulu’s Pom Pom (4-1) – Likely to finish in the money and can win this race with a repeat of her try two back

3. #5 Scorpion Bowl (8-1) – Take this filly over Wantagh Queen because she switches surfaces for trainer Linda Rice who has had good success with turf runners

Race 9 – P.G. Johnson Stakes

1. #10 Chocolate Kisses (7-2) – Irad Ortiz leaves to ride the likely favorite, but this Casse trainee is the only winner at the track and distance

2. #2 Road Tiger (10-1) – Ran strong in her last race out, and with a solid jockey trainer combo she is worth a play at this price

3. #4 Miss Technicality (4-1) – Filly by Gio Ponti is stretching in distance yet still might need to close which should be easier on a track that just got some rain

Race 10 – Mdn 75k

1. #2 Dark Ops (8-1) – Last seen running in a maiden against Audible, if this colt can come back strong, he deserves a chance at these odds

2. #1A Ready to Escape (4-1) – First time gelding gets Joel Rosario who has ridden well for this trainer and was solid last time out

3. #10 Bourbon N Rye (10-1) – Suas will likely be favorite, but has failed to win as one in his last two meaning this first time starter can get a play
