Monday, July 30th Saratoga’s 7th race is the $100,000 Coronation Cup Stakes run at five and one half furlongs on the turf for three year old fillies. This year’s race features a ten horse field, with a Maryland bred running from the eight post. While this filly is undefeated in only one career start, she still starts at long morning line odds of 12/1. Here’s a look at our contender.

Flashly is a dark brown filly by Denman (AUS) – Sheave, by Mineshaft and bred by Robert T. Manfuso. As a yearling she was bought by Zayat Stables for $190,000, a mark of her potential and proof that her first race win was to be expected. With such high expectations for trainer Wayne M. Catalano in her second try, Flashly will be guided by jockey Kendrick Carmouche, who is hoping to help this filly live up to her auction price. Despite Flashly’s price tag and obvious talent, she faces an uphill battle in this stakes race in just her second start, but should be right there with the top challengers in this field.
