In Spa Selections, Saratoga on-site correspondent Joseph Aiello provides picks for a handful of key races at Saratoga, today including the Summer Colony Stakes!
Race 2 – Alw 85000n1x
- #8 Rapt (6-1) – Cuts back in distance and has some solid tries at Saratoga for trainer Robert Ribaudo
- #9 Kantune (9-2) – Ran solid last time out, picking up five lengths in the stretch run and seems to be in good form
- #7 Air Vice Marshall (2-1) – Four-year-old colt by War Front will win with a repeat of last race’s performance
Race 7 – Alw 75000n1x
- #10 New York’s Finest (3-1) – Two-for-two at Saratoga and at distance and with a jockey trainer combo that has won over half their races together this meet
- #1 Wicked Macho (2-1) – Switch to turf saw huge improvement for colt from Casse barn, and should win this race with enough speed
- #7 Psychic Energy (8-1) – Gelding by Freud has seen some improvement, but steps up in class
Race 9 – Summer Colony Stakes
- #2 Going for Broke (8-5) – Obvious morning line favorite who had strong showing in Shine Again Stakes at the Spa a few weeks ago
- #3 Fuhriously Kissed (12-1) – Likes to come from back of pack and might need more pace, but repeat of last race picking up eleven lengths should give her a great chance
- #1 Verve’s Tale (3-1) – Neither this filly nor Rachel’s Temper are in their best form, but this Barclay Tagg trainee drops from Grade I
