In Spa Selections, Saratoga on-site correspondent Joseph Aiello provides picks for a handful of key races at Saratoga, today including the Grade 2 Saratoga Special!

Race 6 – OC 25000n1x

  1. #1 Rockin Alli (5-2) While this mare is zero-for-four at Saratoga, she has the best jockey and best winning clip in this race
  2. #6 Swayed (3-1) Only one in field to win at distance for trainer and owner George Weaver
  3. #5 Victorias Fire (7-2) Lone speed in race on a track that’s been soft and favoring speed, but no turf tries

Race 7 – OC 62500n2x

  1. #1 Galileo’s Song (2-1) Brown trainee drops from grade II and picks up Javier Castellano in the irons
  2. #7 Spiga (5-1) Has had a few solid races at a mile since coming from overseas
  3. #3 Earring (3-1) Runs in back-to-back grade III races should help this Thomas Proctor trainee improve

Race 8 – Grade II Saratoga Special Stakes

  1. #8 Diamond Oops (7-2) Stretch in distance might be issue, but this colt deserves to be favorite
  2. #4 Barry Lee (4-1) Jose Ortiz gets nod over brother Irad on Copper Bullet due to impressive victory first time out at Laurel
  3. #1 Bal Harbor (12-1) Vino or Copper Bullet have shown more, but this duo never seems to lose
