From a Monmouth Park release

Monmouth Park Racetrack has announced that Frank Mirahmadi will become its new track announcer when the 2015 racing season kicks off on Saturday, May 9.

“Frank is an exceptional talent and we’re delighted that he will be joining the Monmouth Park team,” said Bob Kulina, president of Darby Development LLC, operators of the racetrack.  “His style and accuracy will be a perfect fit for Monmouth, and I’m sure everyone on-track and those listening worldwide will be equally delighted with his race calls.”

A veteran of the announcer’s booth for nearly 20 years, Mirahmadi got his start at Hialeah Park in 1996.  Since then he’s called the races at Louisiana Downs, Turf Paradise and for the past nine years the Northern California Fair Circuit.  He’s currently the announcer for Oaklawn Park and Los Alamitos Thoroughbreds and works for TVG as a racing analyst and with their sales department.

In addition, Mirahmadi has voiced race calls for the movie Seabiscuit as well as Ruffian, in which he recreates that filly’s victory over Hot n’ Nasty in the 1974 Sorority Stakes run at Monmouth Park.

“It’s a true honor to call the races at Monmouth,” said Mirahmadi, a 47-year-old native of Los Angeles.  “I am very grateful for the opportunity to call races at such a beautiful racetrack with a storied history and to work for people that are so passionate about racing.”

Headlined by the Grade 1, $1 million Haskell Invitational on Sunday, Aug. 2, Monmouth Park’s 58-day racing season runs from May 9 through Sept. 27.
